Thierry Henry lifts lid on revealing conversation with new Man United signing

Thierry Henry discusses Paul Pogba's start to his second spell at Manchester United

Thierry Henry believes that Paul Pogba does not know what his best attributes are following his summer transfer back to Manchester United.

The France international midfielder is still getting to grips with life back in the Premier League following his summer switch from Juventus.

United are thought to have paid more than £89m to bring the 23-year-old midfielder back to Old Trafford, but most Red Devils fans would agree that he is yet to hit top gear for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Pogba opened his Premier League account for United last month when he scored a header in the 4-1 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.

However, former France and Arsenal star Henry says that the midfielder is still learning about his own game.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Henry said: “When I went to see him, I asked him the question ‘what do you do very well?’ and he said himself said he didn’t know.

“He’s better for me when he’s closer to the box. When he’s around there he can see a clearer picture.

“He likes to play left winger but he wasn’t a left winger, he was always coming in early to let Patrice Evra bomb forward. He didn’t like to do a lot defensively because he had the likes of [Claudio] Marchisio covering for him.

“I think he has the quality to become one of the best. He’s going to need to find what he’s good at, once he’s done that, no one’s going to stop him.”
