Tottenham star explains Paul Pogba’s struggles at Man United
Hugo Lloris explains why he is convinced that Paul Pogba will prove himself at Manchester United this season
Hugo Lloris is convinced that Paul Pogba will prove himself at Manchester United this season despite a slow start to the campaign for the midfielder.
The France international secured a transfer back to the Premier League club from Juventus in the summer and has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United first team so far this season.
Pogba is yet to really find his feet back at United despite opening his Premier League account for the Red Devils with a goal in the 4-1 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
The size of Pogba’s world-record transfer fee has inevitably cast the spotlight on the 23-year-old midfielder this season.
But Tottenham star Lloris says that his France team-mate needs time to re-adapt to the rigours of the Premier League following a busy summer at Euro 2016.
Lloris is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “There are a lot of players who played in the Euros and experiencing physical difficulties at this moment.
“Their preparation was not ideal for the new season.
“Paul is one of them. And he has to take on a record transfer to Manchester United.
“There are lots of little things that have slowed him. But we all know he has many qualities and talent – that’s why we’re demanding of him.
“But things will go well for him with work.”
Pogba will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action with a crunch clash against bitter rivals Liverpool on Monday 17 October at Anfield.
