Dietmar Hamann states prediction for Tottenham v Leicester
The Liverpool legend is backing Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela to score against Leicester City
Dietmar Hamann is backing Erik Lamela to get on the score sheet in Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
The Lilywhites are winless in their last four games in all competitions following stalemates with West Brom, Bayer Leverkusen and Bournemouth.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the League Cup fourth round on Tuesday night following Daniel Sturridge’s double.
Lamela won Tottenham’s penalty in the second half on Merseyside and Vincent Janssen dispatched the subsequent spot-kick in the 75th minute.
Former Liverpool midfielder Hamann believes Lamela could make all the difference when Tottenham host the defending Premier League champions at White Hart Lane this weekend.
“Neither side look particularly convincing as a betting prospect. Tottenham definitely have the edge over Leicester this season though, and I really like Lamela as a player. He had a pretty good game against Liverpool after coming on in the League Cup and won Spurs the penalty,” Hamann wrote in his Paddy Power blog.
Leicester played out a goalless draw with Totteham’s north London rivals Arsenal earlier this season.
The Foxes lost 4-1 to Jurgen Klopp’s impressive Liverpool side at Anfield in September.
Claudio Ranieri’s side were also beaten 3-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge following goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Victor Moses.
Tottenham are the only unbeaten Premier League club remaining in the 2016-17 campaign.
