Michael Owen states his prediction for Tottenham v West Brom
Michael Owen looks ahead to Tottenham's trip to West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday
Michael Owen is expecting a low-scoring game when Tottenham travel to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League this weekend.
The Lilywhites have been one of the top performing teams in the Premier League so far this season and were impressive 2-0 winners over Manchester City at White Hart Lane before the international break.
Spurs are currently second in the Premier League table and just a point behind leaders Manchester City after seven games of the new season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be wanting to continue their form and build the foundations of a genuine title challenge with victory over West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
However, former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Owen believes that the game at The Hawthorns is set to be a cagey affair.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “The last time Tottenham made a better start to the season in top-flight English football was back in the 1960/61 season when they won the title!
“Former Spurs player Nacer Chadli has made a good start to his Albion career and he could be the main threat to a Spurs side who continue to impress.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Under 2.5 goals.”
Tottenham ended up in third place in the Premier League table last season behind champions Leicester and second-placed Arsenal.
