Watch: Simon Mignolet sends warning to Liverpool signing with impressive training clip

The Liverpool goalkeeper isn't content to bench warm as the Belgian reveals his gym workout

Simon Mignolet is breathing down the neck of Loris Karius after the Liverpool signing’s uncertain start to life at Anfield.

The Germany Under-21 international moved to Liverpool in a £4.7m deal from Jurgen Klopp’s former club Mainz in the summer transfer window.

However, Mignolet started the Merseyside outfit’s opening five Premier League games after the new Liverpool number one broke his right hand in pre-season.

Klopp didn’t waste any time throwing Karius into his starting line-up once the German completed his recovery from the problem as the 23-year-old helped Liverpool beat Hull City 5-1 on his Anfield debut.

But Karius looked shaky in the Reds’ 2-1 loss at Swansea City before the summer signing endured a couple of nervous moments during a goalless draw with Manchester United.

And Mignolet looks primed to seize his chance in the Liverpool line-up should Klopp decide to alternate his shot stopper after the Belgium international posted the above clip on his Instagram page on Friday night.

Mignolet wrote the following caption:

“Some say bench warming, I say bench pressing! 💥#NoGivingUp”
