Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for West Brom v Tottenham
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Tottenham's Premier League showdown with West Brom on Saturday
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to ease to a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon to keep up their title charge.
The Lilywhites were in impressive form before the international break as they became the first team to beat Manchester City with a 2-0 victory at White Hart Lane to leave them just a point off top spot after seven games.
Spurs have been one of the Premier League’s top performing teams so far this season and are looking to build on their third-placed finish in the top flight last term.
The north London side are set to come up against former Spurs man Nacer Chadli at The Hawthorns this weekend.
And Lawrenson is tipping Mauricio Pochettino’s men to take all three points back down to London after the game.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “For most of last season, people were asking how Spurs would do if Harry Kane got injured but now we know, and they can definitely cope without him.
“West Brom have made a solid start to the season but this Tottenham team look very convincing at the moment, and they are going to be hard to stop.”
Tottenham challenged Leicester for most of the Premier League season last term but ended up in third place behind second-placed Arsenal and the champions.
