Aaron Ramsey reveals Arsene Wenger asked him to track this dangerous Man United player
Aaron Ramsey was asked to keep tabs on Antonio Valencia by Arsene Wenger on Saturday
Aaron Ramsey has revealed that Arsene Wenger asked him to keep tabs on Antonio Valencia during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
The Ecuador international was restored to the starting line-up at Old Trafford after recovering more quickly than expected from a broken arm.
Valencia was one of United’s standout performers against the Gunners, and he ended up being named the man of the match by former Red Devil Gary Neville.
And Ramsey has revealed that it was not easy to keep up with Valencia during the game after being asked to track him by Wenger.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Wales midfielder Ramsey said: “I felt good out there.
“It was difficult tracking back with Valencia out there but it was something I was asked to do and I felt alright.
“It’s always difficult to come here. We have played better as a team but we got the point in the end.”
Arsenal now turn their attentions back to Champions League affairs and their home clash against Paris Saint-Germain at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
The north London side – who have not on the title since 2003-04 – finished second in the Premier League last season, 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
