Aaron Ramsey sends heartfelt message to Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi
Aaron Ramsey sends a message to Alex Iwobi after Arsenal's 2-2 draw with PSG on Wednesday
Aaron Ramsey has admitted that he felt sorry for Alex Iwobi after Paris Saint-Germain’s equaliser against Arsenal on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
With Arsenal leading 2-1, Iwobi inadvertently diverted Lucas Moura’s header past David Ospina in the Gunners goal as the French side earned a point thanks to their second-half equaliser at The Emirates.
The result could end up being damaging to Arsenal’s Champions League hopes as it means that the Gunners are now likely to finish second in Group A.
And Ramsey admitted that Iwobi was extremely unlucky by his positioning for the PSG equaliser in the second half.
Speaking to Arsenal’s website after the game, midfielder Ramsey said: “You’ve got to feel for him, but he wasn’t aware of what was behind him.
“I feel for him but we’re in it together. It was important not to lose and that’s what we managed not to do.”
Arsenal now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their crunch clash against Bournemouth at The Emirates on Sunday.
The north London side have drawn their last three games in all competitions heading into this weekend’s clash.
