Alexis Sanchez comments on his situation at Arsenal this season
Alexis Sanchez has his say about his situation at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger this term
Alexis Sanchez has insisted that he is happy at Arsenal and with his new position playing up front for the Gunners.
The Chile international has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking players since his arrival at the club from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
Sanchez has been deployed in a central striking role for Arsenal in recent weeks and has been in impressive form for Arsene Wenger’s men.
The 27-year-old’s future has been a source of speculation in recent months after he entered into the final two years of his contract at The Emirates.
Both he and Mesut Ozil are thought to be in talks with the club about the possibility of extending their current deals beyond 2018.
However, the Chilean appears to be happy about life at Arsenal this season.
Sanchez is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “The boss told me I’d be playing as a the striker and I’m gradually getting used to it. I feel more comfortable there because I get more time on the ball.
“In general I am happy – more with how we’ve been playing as a team than with my own personal goals.”
Arsenal finished second and without a trophy last season.
