Alexis Sanchez delivers honest verdict on Arsenal’s title hopes
Alexis Sanchez has his say on Arsenal's title hopes in the Premier League this season
Alexis Sanchez is confident that Arsenal will be able to mount a serious assault on the Premier League title this season.
The north London side are aiming to go one step further in the top flight following their second-placed finish in the table last season, as they ended up 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
Arsenal have been criticised in recent seasons for failing to challenge for the Premier League title following their move to The Emirates from Highbury.
The Gunners have not lifted the top-flight trophy since their famous unbeaten triumph back in the 2003-04 season.
However, Arsenal forward Sanchez believes that Arsene Wenger’s team have what it takes to go all of the way this season.
Speaking before Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United on Saturday, Sanchez is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “We’re playing with a mentality that we want to win everything and become champions.
“We are taking it step by step in terms of our fixtures and ambition but we are not conceding many goals. That is a good place to be.
“We have more desire to achieve something big by winning the Premier League. We have a great side, we are very ambitious and we want to win the title.”
