Alexis Sanchez reacts to Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth
The Chile international was a happy man after helping Arsenal to beat Bournemouth on Sunday
Alexis Sanchez could not hide his delight after helping to fire Arsenal to a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.
Man of the match Sanchez fired Arsenal into the lead in the 12th minute when an error from Steve Cook allowed him to fire home from close range.
But Bournemouth drew level shortly after when Callum Wilson dispatched his penalty after he was brought down by Nacho Monreal in the box.
Arsenal went ahead again in the 53rd minute when Theo Walcott headed home Nacho Monreal’s chipped cross to make it 2-1.
And Sanchez made the win secure when he tapped home Olivier Giroud’s low pass to make it 3-1 late on.
Speaking in a rare post-match interview with Sky Sports, Sanchez said: “Thank you so much. I’m so happy with my two goals but the team’s mentality is strong, so congratulations.
“The mentality in the Premier League is very difficult so we have to continue the same.
“I’m so happy for my friend [Theo Walcott] and for the team, and now I go home to my dogs.”
The win left Arsenal in fourth place in the Premier League and three points behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.
The Gunners host Southampton in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
