Ander Herrera admits he is at a loss to explain why Manchester United are struggling in the Premier League
Ander Herrera has admitted that he is at a loss to explain why Manchester United are struggling to secure victories this season.
The Red Devils were held to another frustrating 1-1 draw by West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they lost further ground on their title rivals.
United are now 11 points behind leaders Chelsea, with the Red Devils having won just two of their last 10 Premier League games.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho’s men have only won one game in their last seven outings in the top flight – a victory at Swansea at the start of November.
Questions will inevitably start to be asked of the Red Devils if they do not start to perform better in the Premier League.
And Herrera admits that there is plenty of work to do as the hectic festive period in the Premier League looms large.
Speaking to United’s website after Sunday’s disappointing result at Old Trafford, Herrera said: “We’re playing so well; we’re creating a lot of chances and a lot of shots, moving the ball from side to side and crossing – I don’t know what we have to do to win a game.
“I don’t know what I can say to our fans, either, because it’s frustrating for us.
“We’re playing the right way, and doing things the right way. I think West Ham are a good side, and they didn’t get the ball for more than one minute [at a time] – so it’s unbelievable that we aren’t winning these games.
“It’s the first time in my career that I’ve felt something like this.”
