Ander Herrera explains what’s changed for him at Man United under Jose Mourinho
Ander Herrera lifts the lid on his improvements for Manchester United this season
Ander Herrera has lifted the lid on his new-found confidence under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The Spanish midfielder has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ starting line-up under the Portuguese coach at Old Trafford this season and has earned praise for his combative midfield displays.
United have been struggling to find consistent form under their new manager but Herrera’s performances have been one of the positives for Red Devils fans this term.
Herrera is a firm favourite amongst Manchester United fans and the Spaniard was recently called up to his national team for the first time.
And the midfielder has lifted the lid on what has changed for him under new boss Mourinho this term.
Speaking in an interview with United Review, Herrera said: “I am playing sometimes a little bit more defensive and sometimes also a bit further forward.
“I think it’s good for me to be able to give some different options for the manager and the team.
“I am happy with my development but football has no memory so you have to perform every weekend and in every game.”
Manchester United take on West Ham United once again at Old Trafford this week in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
The Red Devils finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
