Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Arsenal v Bournemouth

Mark Lawrenson is tipping Arsenal to beat Bournemouth 2-0 at The Emirates on Sunday

Mark Lawrenson is tipping Arsenal to coast to a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners head into the game against the Cherries looking to return to winning ways following the disappointment of their 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Arsene Wenger’s men have drawn their last three games in all competitions but still remain unbeaten since their Premier League defeat by Liverpool back in August on the opening weekend of the season.

The north London side have been in stuttering form but Lawrenson does not believe that Arsenal will be troubled by Bournemouth at The Emirates on Sunday.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Bournemouth got a good win at Stoke last weekend and they are clearly capable of upsetting sides. I don’t see any surprises happening here, though.

“Arsenal can mix it up in attack if they have to and they have got a bit of steel at the back even when they are not playing well.

“The Gunners are unbeaten in their past 18 games in all competitions, since their opening-weekend defeat by Liverpool, and I am backing them to continue that run.”

Arsenal head into the game looking to climb back up the Premier League table, with Wenger’s men currently in fourth place in the top flight.
