Ian Wright states prediction for Arsenal v Bournemouth

The Arsenal legend is tipping the Gunners to beat Bournemouth despite mixed form

Ian Wright is backing Arsenal to edge to an unconvincing victory over Bournemouth at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal managed to let a 2-1 slip to draw 2-2 with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night and drop to second place in Champions League Group A.

The Gunners have drawn their last two Premier League games against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United to fall off the pace in the title race.

However, Arsenal are unbeaten since the opening day of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign when the north London outfit lost 4-3 to Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

While Wright has reservations over Arsenal’s recent Premier League form, the Gunners legend is backing Wenger’s side to get the job done against the Cherries.

“[In] the last three games, there hasn’t been a lot of intensity with Arsenal from the start,” Wright told The Sun’s Goals Podcast.

“If I’m Eddie Howe, I want my Bournemouth side to put Arsenal really under pressure. They’re starting slow. Let’s get out of the blocks quickly and see how they respond.

“But you have to back Arsenal as hard as it is to call an Arsenal game right now because you don’t know what you’ll get. You’d have to say Arsenal [to win].”

Arsenal are in fourth place and four points behind leaders Chelsea after 12 Premier League games.
