Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal are missing this player badly
Arsene Wenger talks up the importance of Santi Cazorla in his Arsenal team
Arsene Wenger has admitted that his Arsenal team are badly missing playmaker Santi Cazorla.
The Spaniard is currently out injured and is not expected to return to action until next month.
Cazorla is a vital cog in the Arsenal midfield and his absence in recent games has come as a blow to the north London side, who have drawn their last three games in all competitions.
And Wenger admits that Cazorla is a big miss for his Arsenal team as they prepare to take on Bournemouth in the Premier League at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Wenger said: “He’s important to our technical stability in the team, to the quality of our decision-making and to our build-up from deep midfield to the high midfield.
“We have enough quality players in our side to get around that, even if Santi a massive player for us. We are good enough to find solutions despite the fact he’s not there.”
Arsenal head into the game on Sunday looking to bounce back from their 2-2 draw with PSG in the Champions League in midweek.
The north London side have also drawn their last two games 1-1 in the Premier League after stalemates against both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
