Arsene Wenger delivers honest verdict on Man United boss Jose Mourinho

Arsene Wenger has his say on his relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is not holding any grudges against Jose Mourinho following the managers’ heated history.

The Arsenal and Manchester United bosses have rarely seen eye-to-eye during their times in the Premier League and have had plenty of verbal clashes in the past.

Mourinho famously branded Wenger a “specialist in failure” during his second spell in charge at Chelsea and the pair have also had their fair share of touchline spats.

However, the Arsenal boss insists that he cannot comment on his counterpart’s word and actions, and instead is only focused on what he himself can change.

Speaking in his news conference ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday, Wenger said: “In life, everybody is responsible for what he says and what he does.

“So I am responsible for what I say and what I do. Not what other people say or what they do. So I cannot respond to responsibility for what other people say about me or about themselves. I stand up for what I have said and what I do.”

The Frenchman added: “I make mistakes in my life, and I regret every one I make, believe me. I would have loved to have a life without any mistakes. But unfortunately I am not even sure that Jesus did that.”
