Arsene Wenger issues Arsenal rallying cry ahead of Man United showdown
Arsene Wenger has a positive message for his Arsenal players ahead of their trip to Manchester United
Arsene Wenger has told his Arsenal players to keep their spirits high during the international break before their crunch clash with Manchester United later this month.
Wenger watched his Arsenal side be held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by bitter local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their derby clash at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The result means that Arsenal missed their chance to move top of the Premier League table, with the north London side now in fourth place and two points behind new leaders Liverpool.
It proved to be a disappointing afternoon for Arsenal against Spurs as they struggled to break down Mauricio Pochettino’s men in front of their home fans.
Arsenal will now turn their attentions towards returning to winning ways in their crunch clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on 19 November.
And Wenger believes that the Gunners have plenty to be positive about despite the disappointment of dropping points against Spurs.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Wenger said: “Spurs defended well but we lacked a bit of creativity and technical quality in the final third to be a real danger.
“We are disappointed because we didn’t win but overall we are in a strong position.
“It’s what we make of it now and how consistent we will be. We have been very consistent until now so, even if we are frustrated now, let’s try to transform that into positive energy when the Premier League restarts.”
