Arsene Wenger reveals Arsenal’s most disappointed player after PSG draw
Arsene Wenger reveals how disappointed Alex Iwobi was after Arsenal's 2-2 draw with PSG
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alex Iwobi was bitterly disappointed by his performance in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with PSG.
The Nigerian midfielder was restored to the starting line-up for the crunch Champions League clash but the Gunners struggled to get a foothold in the game.
Iwobi was partly to blame for Lucas Moura’s second-half equaliser as the midfielder inadvertently directed the ball away from David Ospina in the Arsenal goal.
The 20-year-old has earned plenty of praise for his strong performances for the Gunners so far this season.
However, Wenger conceded that the midfielder was upset by his display for the Gunners on Wednesday night.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at The Emirates, Arsenal boss Wenger said: “Look, it can happen. The frustrating thing I think is that Ospina was behind him.
“He is certainly the most disappointed by what happened to him. But that is part of the game.
“We have to take that on the chin and support him and go back into the next game.”
Arsenal now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their clash with Bournemouth at The Emirates.
The Gunners have drawn their last three games in all competitions heading into Sunday’s clash.
