Arsene Wenger sends light-hearted warning to Theo Walcott after Arsenal win
Arsene Wenger jokes that Theo Walcott now needs to work twice as hard for Arsenal following the birth of his second child
Arsene Wenger has warned jokingly Theo Walcott that he must now work twice as hard for Arsenal following the birth of his second son on Friday.
The England forward celebrated the birth of his new child over the weekend before Arsenal’s clash against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Walcott scored Arsenal’s second goal as the north London side returned to winning ways in the top flight with a 3-1 victory over the Cherries at The Emirates.
Walcott appears to have been given a new lease of life under Wenger this season and has been regularly featuring in the starting line-up for the Gunners.
And Wenger had a light-hearted warning for Walcott after Sunday’s victory over Bournemouth.
Asked about Walcott’s goal celebration, Wenger told his post-match news conference: “Two babies, two boys! He has to run for two now you know! He has to work double.”
Walcott will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action with a trip to West Ham United in the top flight on Saturday.
