Arsene Wenger sets rough date for Santi Cazorla’s Arsenal return
Arsene Wenger is hoping to have Santi Cazorla back available for Arsenal in the coming weeks
Arsene Wenger feels that Santi Cazorla is around two weeks away from a return to the Arsenal team.
The Spanish playmaker has been out of action since suffering an injury during the 6-0 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League earlier in the season.
Cazorla is widely regarded to be one of Arsenal’s key players and his absence is certainly a blow to the north London side.
Wenger has admitted his frustration at how long Cazorla has been sidelined for so far but is hopeful that the Spanish playmaker will make his return to action in the coming weeks.
Wenger is quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph: “Look, I’ve given a bit up on that.
“I don’t know how far he is. He looks like he’s making progress but, as long as the player is not in full-time training with the squad, it’s difficult to set targets.
“It’s not a big injury that will harm his future. My gut feeling is it will be short, two weeks, but when a player comes back to full training it still takes two weeks for a player to be ready again.”
The Arsenal manager is currently preparing his side for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side are aiming to return to winning ways in the top flight after 1-1 draws against both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.
