Charlie Nicholas delivers blunt verdict on Chelsea forward Eden Hazard
The Arsenal legend insists there is no chance that Chelsea's Eden Hazard will finish as the Premier League's top goal-scorer
Charlie Nicholas has rubbished talk of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard finishing as the Premier League’s top goal-scorer this season.
The Belgium international has made an impressive start to the 2016-17 campaign to help Antonio Conte’s side keep pace with their Premier League title rivals.
The Belgian forward scored twice in the west London outfit’s opening six Premier League games before hitting top form in October and November.
Hazard netted five times in four Premier League games ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur in the London derby on Saturday evening.
The former Lille man was voted the PFA Premier League player of the year in 2014-15 after he netted 14 times in 38 games to fire Chelsea to the title.
However, former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas doesn’t envisage Hazard troubling the likes of Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero for the Premier League’s golden boot.
“Eden Hazard is another player people will mention because of his form but he’s not got a prayer for the Golden Boot, I don’t see it at all,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last season.
