David Beckham: This Man United signing can act like my children
David Beckham delivers his verdict on Manchester United new-boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic
David Beckham has claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic reminds him of his children – but only when he doesn’t win.
The towering striker is currently getting used to life at Manchester United following his move to Old Trafford from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer.
Ibrahimovic has already scored eight goals in all competitions for United since his arrival at the club and has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ starting line-up.
The 35-year-old will be hoping to feature when Manchester United return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a crunch clash against Feyenoord at Old Trafford.
Beckham played alongside Ibrahimovic during his time at Paris Saint-Germain and the former England captain has lifted the lid on his thoughts about the forward.
Speaking in an interview with TV4Sport, Beckham said: “He was one of those players that it doesn’t matter whether we were playing an important match in the French league, or on the training field, he wanted to win.
“If he wasn’t winning, he was like one of my children. He would get upset, he would get angry, he would lose it. Not that my kids lose it, but Zlatan does. For me he is a winner.”
Ibrahimovic was suspended as Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday.
