Eden Hazard opens up about new Man United boss Jose Mourinho
Eden Hazard tells all about his relationship with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho
Eden Hazard has insisted that he always supported Jose Mourinho during his troubled spell at Chelsea last season.
The Portuguese coach was sacked in December 2015 after a disastrous start to the west London club’s title defence left them languishing close to the relegation zone.
Chelsea ended up in 10th place in the table following Mourinho’s departure and there had been talk of fallings-out between players and staff at Stamford Bridge.
However, Hazard has insisted that he and Mourinho always enjoyed a positive relationship and he has nothing but respect for the Portuguese coach, who has since taken charge at Manchester United.
Speaking in an interview with Football Focus, as quoted by The Daily Express, Hazard said: “Our relationship was always the same, from two years ago to last season.
“For him it’s difficult to lose a game because in his career he wins all the time.
“But we were together. We were together at the top and in the bad moments. We suffered together.”
Hazard helped Chelsea win the Premier League and League Cup under Mourinho in the 2014-15 season.
He was also voted as the PFA player of the year that season after a sparkling campaign for the west London club.
