Gary Lineker delivers blunt verdict on Tottenham signing
The former Tottenham striker hasn't been impressed with Vincent Janssen
Gary Lineker has likened Tottenham Hotspur signing Vincent Janssen to Spurs flop Roberto Soldado.
The Netherlands international is still waiting to score his first Premier League goal from open play after the 22-year-old failed to score in Tottenham’s 3-2 win against West Ham United.
Janssen has one shot on target before the summer signing was replaced in the 68th minute as Mauricio Pochettino opted to bring on Dele Alli in place of the Dutch centre-forward.
The 22-year-old striker moved to Tottenham in a £19m deal from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar in the summer transfer window.
Janssen scored his first Premier League goal from the penalty spot in their 1-1 draw with Leicester City at White Hart Lane in October.
However, former Tottenham striker Lineker isn’t impressed with Janssen’s ineffectual performances in a Spurs shirt so far.
Janssen is doing his best to make Soldado look a good signing.

Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of leaders Liverpool after 11 games.
The north London side have won just one of their last five top-flight games.
