Gary Lineker delivers funny verdict on Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at Man United
The Match Of The Day host pokes fun at Piers Morgan after Arsenal rescue a late 1-1 draw with Manchester United
Gary Lineker couldn’t resist poking fun at Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan after Olivier Giroud’s late header rescued a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.
The Gunners had the chance to move to the top of the Premier League table with victory over their bitter rivals at Old Trafford.
However, the 20-time English champions were on top for much of the first half and Antonio Valencia was denied a penalty after the Ecuadorian full-back tangled with Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal.
Jose Mourinho brought on Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney in search of a winner in the second half but it was his Spain internationals Ander Herrera and Juan Mata who managed to unlock the Arsenal defence.
Newly-capped Spanish midfielder Herrera found his compatriot with a low cross and Mata guided a finish past his former Chelsea team-mate Petr Cech in the 70th minute.
With Arsenal seemingly heading for a disappointing defeat at the home of their title rivals, Morgan took to Twitter to slam the north London side’s lack of a top-class forward.
Zero shots on target.
But hey, Wenger's right – we don't need a world class striker. #MUFCvAFC

However, Arsene Wenger brought on Giroud in the latter stages of the Premier League clash and the Arsenal centre-forward powered a header past United goalkeeper David De Gea in the 89th minute to rescue a point for the hosts.
And Match Of The Day host Lineker didn’t waste any time retweeting Morgan’s post minutes earlier.
