Gary Lineker reacts to Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Tottenham on Twitter
The Tottenham legend delivers verdict on Christian Eriksen's opening goal
Gary Lineker heaped praise on Christian Eriksen for his superb opener after Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to Chelsea on Saturday evening.
The Denmark international has been heavily criticised for a series of poor performances in Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side in the 2016-17 season so far.
Eriksen was alert to the loose ball after Dele Alli’s superb run and the former Ajax midfielder fired a long-range strike past Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois in the 11th minute in west London.
However, Chelsea were level on the stroke of half-time after former Barcelona man Pedro Rodriguez curled a delicious finish past France international Hugo Lloris.
Nigeria international Victor Moses completed Chelsea’s comeback with a close-range finish after superb counter-attack from the home side.
Lineker took to Twitter after Eriksen’s superb opener before Chelsea’s resurgence at Stamford Bridge.
Cracking goal from Eriksen. Come on Spurs, I'm sick of that bloody Stamford Bridge record.
