Gary Lineker lavishes praise on Chelsea's Eden Hazard after Saturday evening's 5-0 win over Everton
Gary Lineker hailed Eden Hazard as world class after Chelsea’s 5-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
Hazard broke the deadlock in the first half with a superb low shot which beat Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg in the 19th minute at Stamford Bridge.
Just a minute later, Chelsea were 2-0 up thanks to Marcos Alonso’s first Premier League goal for the west London side after an impressive counter-attacking move.
Spain international Diego Costa extended Chelsea’s lead to three after the 28-year-old managed to get on the end of Nemanja Matic’s flick two minutes before the break.
Hazard scored his seventh Premier League goal of the season in the 55th minute after the Belgium international combined with Pedro Rodriguez before curling a finish into the net.
And the Spanish winger completed the rout with the west London side’s fifth goal to hoist Antonio Conte’s side to the top of the Premier League table.
Former Tottenham forward Lineker was full of praise for Hazard after Chelsea’s landslide victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Had to stand up and applaud that Hazard goal. Football at its most beautiful.
