The French striker came off the bench to help Arsenal secure the three points against Bournemouth in what ended up being a hard-fought win for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Giroud has been making regular impacts for Arsenal coming off the bench, and the French striker helped to set up the north London club’s third goal when he teed up Alexis Sanchez late on at The Emirates.
However, Lineker believes that Giroud’s solid form as a substitute could end up being a factor in keeping him on the bench this season.
Lineker tweeted after Sunday’s game:
The problem with scoring regularly and making the odd assist from the bench is that you might just get stuck on there permanently. #Giroud
