The French striker came off the bench to help Arsenal secure the three points against Bournemouth in what ended up being a hard-fought win for Arsene Wenger’s men.

Giroud has been making regular impacts for Arsenal coming off the bench, and the French striker helped to set up the north London club’s third goal when he teed up Alexis Sanchez late on at The Emirates.

However, Lineker believes that Giroud’s solid form as a substitute could end up being a factor in keeping him on the bench this season.

Lineker tweeted after Sunday’s game:

Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth lifted the Gunners up to fourth place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.

The north London side now turn their attentions back to League Cup affairs and their quarter-final clash against Southampton on Wednesday night.
