Gary Lineker reacts to Olivier Giroud’s display in Arsenal v Bournemouth on Twitter
Gary Lineker takes to social media to warn that Olivier Giroud's good form from the bench could be to his detriment
Gary Lineker has taken to social media to warn that Olivier Giroud’s good form from the bench could end up working against him.
The French striker came off the bench to help Arsenal secure the three points against Bournemouth in what ended up being a hard-fought win for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Giroud has been making regular impacts for Arsenal coming off the bench, and the French striker helped to set up the north London club’s third goal when he teed up Alexis Sanchez late on at The Emirates.
However, Lineker believes that Giroud’s solid form as a substitute could end up being a factor in keeping him on the bench this season.
Lineker tweeted after Sunday’s game:
The problem with scoring regularly and making the odd assist from the bench is that you might just get stuck on there permanently. #Giroud

Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth lifted the Gunners up to fourth place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the new season.
The north London side now turn their attentions back to League Cup affairs and their quarter-final clash against Southampton on Wednesday night.
