Hector Bellerin’s agent delivers update on Arsenal star’s future

Hector Bellerin's agent says he is close to signing a new contract with Arsenal

Hector Bellerin’s agent has insisted that the defender is happy at Arsenal and wants to sign a new deal with the north London club.

The Spanish full-back has developed into one of the Premier League’s top defenders since breaking into the Arsenal first team and is a regular fixture in the Gunners side.

Bellerin has been linked with a possible transfer back to his boyhood club Barcelona in the past.

However, the player’s agent Albert Botines has insisted that Bellerin is now close to signing a new contract with the north London side.

Speaking in an interview with The Guardian, Bellerin said: “We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign.

“Hector is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress.”

Arsenal are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Liverpool after their 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the weekend.
