Ian Rush: This Liverpool star is better than Chelsea’s Eden Hazard
Ian Rush claims that Philippe Coutinho has been in better form than Eden Hazard this season
Ian Rush has claimed that Philippe Coutinho is better than Eden Hazard on current form.
Coutinho has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the Reds so far this season to help them top the table earlier this month.
The Brazilian was named as Liverpool’s player of the month for October as Liverpool got off to a flying start in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season at the club.
Hazard has also been in fine form for Chelsea and was voted as the Premier League’s player of the month for his sparkling performances in October.
The Belgian’s upturn in form is in stark contrast to his struggles last season as Chelsea slumped to a 10th-placed finish in the Premier League.
However, Liverpool legend Rush feels that Coutinho is a cut above Hazard at the moment.
Speaking exclusively to 888sport, Rush said: “I’m biased because I watch him play a lot but I think he is the best in the Premier League.
“Hazard is doing well at Chelsea but Coutinho is outperforming Hazard this season.
“He is scoring more goals with more assists and he has been fantastic. He was good last year but he’s kicked on now is a much better player.”
Liverpool take on Sunderland this weekend at Anfield, while Chelsea host bitter London rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.
