Ian Wright delivers blunt verdict on Arsenal ahead of Bournemouth clash
The Arsenal legend criticises the Gunners' mentality after 2-2 draw with PSG
Ian Wright says it is a case of same old Arsenal after Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners were looking to secure a win against the Ligue 1 holders that would secure top spot in Champions League Group A with a game to spare.
However, Uruguay international Edinson Cavani capitalised on Arsenal’s disappointing start to the European fixture with a close-range finish.
The north London side were level before the break thanks to Olivier Giroud’s spot-kick after Alexis Sanchez won a dubious penalty at The Emirates.
Italy international Marco Verratti edged Arsenal into the lead after the PSG midfielder inadvertently placed the ball past his own goalkeeper.
But Arsenal failed to capitalise on their good fortunate as Lucas Moura’s header levelled the Champions League clash to leave PSG in charge of Group A.
Speaking on BT Sport after Wednesday night’s disappointing result, Gunners legend Wright was critical of Arsenal’s mentality.
“Psychologically, it’s the same old Arsenal, it’s what they do. They into a position where they can win the group and for some reason something happens when they throw it away,” Wright told BT Sport.
