Ian Wright explains what Arsenal have been lacking in recent games
Ian Wright delivers his verdict on Arsenal's performances in recent weeks
Ian Wright believes that Arsenal have been lacking intensity from the start in recent games following their 2-2 draw with PSG on Wednesday night.
The Gunners failed to click into gear in the first half at The Emirates and despite moving 2-1 ahead in the second half, they were pegged back by Lucas Moura’s header as they were forced to settle for a point.
The result means that Arsenal are unlikely to top their Champions League group this season and could face a trickier last-16 draw.
It also marked Arsenal’s third draw in a row in all competitions, following stalemates against Tottenham and Manchester United.
And Arsenal legend Wright was disappointed by the Gunners’ lack of intensity from the off against PSG.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Wright said: “They didn’t do it against Tottenham and Man United, they didn’t do it here.
“What you want is that intensity. You need to start games like that so it gives everyone a lift and gets the crowd going. At the moment Arsenal don’t seem to be able to do that.”
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League last season and without a trophy.
The north London side take on Bournemouth in the Premier League at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
