Ian Wright issues title warning to Chelsea and Liverpool
The Arsenal striker believes Manchester City are still title favourites
Ian Wright has warned Chelsea and Liverpool that Manchester City are still favourites to win the Premier League title this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been installed as second favourites behind the Citizens after Liverpool sat at the top of the Premier League table during the international break thanks to a 6-1 win against Watford.
Chelsea were hot on Liverpool’s heels after a 5-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge to extend their winning run to five Premier League games since a 3-0 loss to title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in September.
Liverpool have already beaten Arsenal and Chelsea on the road in the title race this season, while Antonio Conte’s men were 4-0 winners against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in October.
Former Gunners striker Wright believes Manchester City are still the team to beat despite Chelsea and Liverpool’s lack of European football.
“I am impressed by Chelsea and Liverpool but I am still going with Manchester City as favourites because of the way Pep Guardiola’s players are playing,” Wright told The Sun Goals app podcast.
Conte was appointed as Guus Hiddink’s successor in the summer.
Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers at Anfield back in October.
