Ian Wright reacts to Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with PSG

Ian Wright has his say after Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League

Ian Wright claimed Arsenal were lucky to escape with a point after Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with PSG in the Champions League.

Arsenal fell behind in the 18th minute when Edinson Cavani finished from close range.

The Gunners were outplayed for long spells at The Emirates in the first half but clawed their way back into the game when Olivier Giroud dispatched his penalty after Alexis Sanchez was fouled in the box.

Arsenal improved considerably after the break and took the lead in the 60th minute when Marco Verratti scored an own-goal following some sustained pressure from the home side.

However, visitors PSG drew level 13 minutes from time when Lucas Moura headed in to leave them likely to claim top spot in Group A.

Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Wright said: “It feels like a defeat really. They didn’t create nowhere near enough.

“They’re very fortunate because I believe that PSG deserved to win this game today, especially when you see the goals that Arsenal did score. It was a very fortunate penalty and an own-goal.

“Arsenal were very fortunate not to lose that game.”
