The Liverpool legend has his say on the Merseyside outfit's 2-0 win against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon
Jamie Carragher singled out Roberto Firmino and Dejan Lovren for special praise after Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Sunderland at Anfield on Saturday.
Brazil international Philippe Coutinho was forced off in the first half with an ankle injury after the Liverpool number 10 clashed with Sunderland’s Ibrahim Ndong.
Divock Origi was brought on to replace Coutinho in the 33rd minute and the Belgium international broke the deadlock with a close-range finish with 15 minutes remaining at Anfield.
Liverpool extended their lead in added time thanks to James Milner’s emphatic penalty after Sadio Mane was brought down inside Jordan Pickford’s area.
The Reds maintained their unbeaten Premier League record thanks to their 2-0 win against the Black Cats ahead of their trip to Bournemouth next Sunday.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher highlighted the performance of Firmino and Lovren in his post-match thoughts on the Premier League victory on Twitter.
