Jamie Redknapp delivers blunt verdict on Tottenham form
Jamie Redknapp says Tottenham Hotspur need to get Harry Kane back fit - and fast
Jamie Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur are simply missing Harry Kane this season after they stuttered to their third successive Premier League draw on Saturday.
The Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City at White Hart Lane as Spurs once again failed to beat their opponents in north London.
The result left Tottenham in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Manchester City after 10 games of the new season.
Spurs have had to cope without the injured Harry Kane in recent weeks as the striker continues to recover from an ankle injury.
The forward is understood to be closing in on a return to action ahead of Sunday’s north London derby showdown with Arsenal at The Emirates.
And former Spurs midfielder Redknapp admits that the return of Kane can’t come quick enough for the Lilywhites.
Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “I’m sure Mauricio Pochettino is more than happy with Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the season but you feel they are one player short.
“Saturday’s draw with Leicester was their 18th since the start of last season — more than any other team in the Premier League — and Harry Kane would have turned those draws into wins.”
Tottenham finished third in the table last season.
