Jamie Redknapp highlights fact about Jose Mourinho at Man United
The former Liverpool midfielder has his say about Manchester United's slow start to the season
Jamie Redknapp has highlighted the fact that Manchester United have made a worse start to life under Jose Mourinho than they did under David Moyes three years ago.
The Red Devils slumped to a goalless draw against Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday as they dropped points for the fourth successive game in the Premier League.
That result left Manchester United languishing 10 points behind leaders Manchester City after 10 games and has heaped fresh pressure on new boss Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach has been tasked with steering United back into the top four after their disappointing fifth-placed finish last season under Louis van Gaal.
However, former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp has pointed out that Mourinho’s start to life at Old Trafford has been extremely disappointing.
Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “The draw capped another miserable week for Jose Mourinho but it was a rare piece of good news for Sunderland boss David Moyes.
“Mourinho has 15 points from his first 10 United games — two fewer than Moyes managed at the same stage of his only season in charge.”
Manchester United return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a trip to Turkey to take on Fenerbahce.
