Jamie Redknapp tells Chelsea to consider signing a new forward in the January transfer window
Jamie Redknapp has told Chelsea to consider signing a new striker in the January transfer window.
The Blues have made a strong start to the new campaign and have earned plenty of praise for their performances in recent weeks to move to the top of the Premier League table.
The west London side made it seven straight wins in the top flight on Saturday night when they came from a goal down to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Much has been made about Chelsea’s strong start to the season under new boss Antonio Conte following a switch to a 3-4-3 formation.
However, former Spurs midfielder Redknapp feels that Chelsea would be wise to dip into the January transfer market to sign a forward and further boost their hopes of winning the title.
Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “Conte may feel he has enough options up front with the likes of Michy Batshuayi and Dominic Solanke but may feel the need to strengthen those areas in January.
“One or two additions will help Chelsea sustain their title challenge.”
