Jose Mourinho comments on Paul Pogba’s start to life at Man United
The Manchester United manager says he has been pleased with how Paul Pogba has been performing
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has been happy with the start to life Paul Pogba has made back at Manchester United.
The France midfielder returned to Old Trafford from Juventus in the summer transfer window in a world-record deal but most Red Devils fans will probably agree that the 23-year-old midfielder is yet to hit top gear for Mourinho’s men.
Pogba started Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Saturday in the Premier League but was unable to steer his side to victory.
However, Mourinho insists that he has been pleased with what he has seen from Pogba so far this season and says there is plenty more to come.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by United’s website: “He is adapting much better in relation to the intensity of the competition and he is much more confident.
“Obviously he plays with some guidelines over his position but at the same time with some freedom to occupy some attacking areas where he feels and thinks he can be important. He is comfortable on the pitch. That is the best way of saying it.”
Pogba will be hoping to be involved when Manchester United return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a crunch clash against Dutch side Feyenoord at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
