Jose Mourinho takes swipe at Arsene Wenger after Man United’s draw with Arsenal
Jose Mourinho has his say on Arsene Wenger's lack of Premier League titles in recent seasons
Jose Mourinho has aimed a fresh dig at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in the wake of Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League at the weekend.
Mourinho watched his side be pegged back by the Gunners at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime as Olivier Giroud’s header cancelled out Juan Mata’s opener.
The Arsenal and Manchester United managers have rarely seen eye to eye and it would be fair to say that they are not the closest of friends.
And Mourinho has again sparked a fresh war of words with the Arsenal manager by pointing out how long it has been since the Gunners last won the title, back in 2004.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by The Irish Independent: “The Arsenal manager hasn’t won a championship in 12 years.
“I haven’t won a championship in 18 months. He, in 12 years, failed to build a team to be champion. I’ve been here for four months. And the demand is only for me and not for others.”
Manchester United have made a stuttering start to the season under Mourinho and are currently nine points behind leader Chelsea after 12 games of the new campaign.
