Juan Mata issues Man United rallying cry ahead of Arsenal clash
Juan Mata is determined to help Manchester United enjoy a strong first season under Jose Mourinho
Juan Mata believes that Manchester United are still in the hunt for the Premier League title despite their stuttering start to the season under new manager Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils currently find themselves trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by eight points after 11 games of the new campaign under their new boss.
Mata has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team this term despite the speculation that he could struggle to hold down a spot under Mourinho.
The Spaniard admits that it has been a tough start to the campaign, but the playmaker is confident that he can help United enjoy a successful season as the Red Devils prepare to welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford in the Premier League after the international break.
Speaking at a news conference with Spain on Thursday, Mata said: “It’s true that our start to the season didn’t go as we had hoped for, but we are there [near the top of the table].
“I want to continue to do the talking on the pitch after a strange summer, with so many things that came out that were false.
“I’m enjoying myself on the pitch and things are going well for me. I’ve had a good month and I want to continue to showcase my talent on the pitch.”
