Juan Mata: Where Man United need to improve under Jose Mourinho
The Manchester United midfielder wants the Red Devils to improve their finishing
Juan Mata says Manchester United need to start taking their chances ahead of a kind run of Premier League fixtures.
The Red Devils played out a frustrating 1-1 draw with Slaven Bilic’s struggling West Ham United side in the top flight at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Manchester club managed to cancel out Diafra Sakho’s opener thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s cushioned finish in the first half at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, Jose Mourinho’s side couldn’t conjure a winner in the second half as Manchester United slumped to their second successive stalemate at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have managed to win just two of their last 10 Premier League games to leave Mourinho’s men 11 points behind his former club Chelsea at the top of the table.
Mata, who moved to Manchester United in a £37.1m deal from Chelsea in the 2013 January transfer window, delivered his verdict on the Manchester outfit’s biggest problem.
“We know we must find the target more often to score more goals,” Mata wrote in his personal blog One Hour Behind.
“We are doing what is more difficult: being able to create those chances, and now we have to take them. I’m having a look at the calendar and I see that we have eight games to play before the end of the year.
“In my opinion, having so many games in such a short period is something positive because we are eager to play again.”
The Red Devils will make the trip to Everton in their next Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.
