Jurgen Klopp sends stark warning to his Liverpool players
Jurgen Klopp warns his Liverpool players not to celebrate their strong start to the new season
Jurgen Klopp has warned his Liverpool players that they must not get carried away by their position in the Premier League.
The Merseyside outfit have earned plenty of praise for their performances in recent weeks following their strong start to the new season.
Liverpool are currently in second place in the Premier League table after 12 games as they look to break back into the top four this term following their eighth-placed finish last season.
Their strong start to the season has inevitably promoted suggestions that Klopp’s men could challenge for the Premier League title this term.
However, Klopp has moved quickly to play down any talk of premature celebrations after just 12 games of the season.
Klopp is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “If somebody is a character and wants to celebrate the position [we have] in November then he will not play in December anymore because I will see it pretty quick.
“But these things don’t usually happen because the players are here [at Liverpool] in this situation because their character is really good.”
Liverpool finished without a trophy last season despite reaching the Europa League and League Cup finals under Klopp.
The German coach was brought in as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield in October 2015.
