Liverpool legend: Jose Mourinho will be frightened by this at Man United
Graeme Souness says Jose Mourinho will be concerned by his stuttering start to life at Manchester United
Graeme Souness believes that Jose Mourinho will be extremely concerned about the fact that he does not yet appear to know his strongest team at Manchester United.
The Red Devils have made a stuttering start to the campaign under new boss Mourinho following his appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
Indeed, United fell further off the pace in the Premier League on Sunday when they were held to another frustrating draw at Old Trafford – this time against West Ham United.
Mourinho’s side are currently 11 points behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games of the season and have it all to do if they are to claw their way back into contention for the title.
And Liverpool legend Souness feels that the fact that Mourinho does not appear to know what his strongest starting 11 is will be a big concern for the Red Devils boss.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Souness said: “Man United are one of the biggest football clubs in the world and everyone wants to talk about them when it’s not going well – like we are right now.
“You have to deal with that pressure. He [Mourinho] is at a big football club, which is not new to him, he’s used to dealing with it.
“But he’s used to solving the problems quicker than he has this time at Man United.
“It’s nearly Christmas and that’s a pretty frightening thing for a manager if you don’t know what your strongest team is.”
