Michael Owen states his prediction for Liverpool v Sunderland
Michael Owen looks ahead to Liverpool's clash with Sunderland on Saturday in the Premier League
Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool to return to winning ways in the Premier League against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Reds head into the game after having been held to a frustrating goalless draw by Southampton last weekend as they surrendered top spot in the Premier League to Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp has had a full week to work with his players after their stalemate last weekend as they look to return to winning ways in the top flight.
And former Liverpool striker Owen is tipping the Reds to do the business against the Black Cats at Anfield this weekend.
Writing in his betting column for BetVictor, former England star Owen said: “It is 40 games since Jurgen Klopp picked an unchanged XI in the Premier League and I wonder if the Reds’ boss will name Daniel Sturridge in his starting XI against Sunderland given the Reds failed to hit the target, despite dominating the game, at Southampton last weekend.
“I don’t expect the Reds to slip up back at Anfield even allowing for the Black Cats recent upturn in fortunes.”
