Michael Owen states his prediction for Man United v West Ham
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's clash with West Ham United this weekend
Michael Owen is fully expecting to see Manchester United beat West Ham in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Arsenal in their most recent Premier League outing last weekend despite Jose Mourinho’s men dominating for long spells.
United have made a stuttering start to life under Mourinho following his appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
They have struggled to produce consistent performances and currently trail Premier League leaders Chelsea by nine points after 12 games.
However, former Liverpool and United striker Owen is fully expecting to see the Red Devils claim all three points this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “It is nearly a decade since West Ham last won at Old Trafford and I don’t expect the Irons to get anything against a United side who probably still feel aggrieved that they didn’t get the result against Arsenal last week that their performance deserved.
“The Hammers played well enough at White Hart Lane last weekend but they will miss the suspended Winston Reid and I expect to see a home win.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season before he was sacked and replaced by Mourinho.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since 2013.
