Mauricio Pochettino issues Tottenham rallying cry ahead of Chelsea clash
Mauricio Pochettino tells his Tottenham players to get ready for their clash with Chelsea this weekend
Mauricio Pochettino has told his Tottenham players to dust themselves down after the disappointment of their Champions League exit as they now turn their attentions towards their crunch Premier League clash against Chelsea this weekend.
The north London side were eliminated from Europe’s elite club competition on Tuesday night after suffering a 2-1 defeat by Monaco following their stuttering form in the Champions League.
Spurs had booked their place in the competition thanks to their third-placed finish in the Premier League last season but will now concentrate on domestic affairs.
Pochettino is currently gearing his Tottenham side up for their crunch clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
And the Spurs boss has urged his players to put Tuesday’s disappointment behind them as they prepare to take on the Blues on Saturday night.
Pochettino is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “Maybe we feel bad now, disappointed, but tomorrow is another day.
“We need to be optimistic in the club. We need to compete.
“Saturday will be a very big game, and go to Chelsea and try to win the game.”
Tottenham were held to a 2-2 draw by Chelsea when the two sides met last season.
