Memphis Depay sends cryptic message to Man United fans ahead of January transfer window
The Netherlands international appears willing to fight for his Manchester United future
Memphis Depay has appeared to suggest that he will keep fighting for his Manchester United future.
The Netherlands international has been linked with a move away from the 20-time English champions in recent weeks after failing to make an impression under new manager Jose Mourinho.
The Guardian reported in early November that Memphis is a target for Fenerbahce, while Everton manager Ronald Koeman has spoken of his admiration for the Netherlands international.
Manchester United have struggled to find some consistent form under their manager Mourinho following his appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor in May.
The former Netherlands head coach signed Memphis in a £25m deal from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven in the 2015 summer transfer window ahead of interest from Liverpool.
However, Memphis appeared to suggest that he would stay at Old Trafford and fight for his future in a series of Snapchat posts on Monday afternoon.
“What’s up guys, I just want to send you all a message that goes to all the young people who look at this right now and the message is believe in yourself, chase your dreams, be successful,” Memphis said on Snapchat – as quoted by The Manchester Evening News.
“That’s what I do, I believe in myself, keep grinding, whatever you guys are doing, work hard because it’s going to pay off.”
The Red Devils drew 1-1 with Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
