Mesut Ozil: This is what I’m doing every day at Arsenal
Mesut Ozil reveals he is constantly working on improving his game at Arsenal
Mesut Ozil has revealed that he is constantly working hard on improving his game at Arsenal.
The Germany playmaker has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting players since his arrival at the club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.
Ozil has been in fine form so far this season and has scored six goals in all competitions to help Arsene Wenger’s men up to second place in the table and two points behind leaders Liverpool after 11 games of the new campaign.
The World Cup winner will be hoping to feature when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a crunch clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
And the 28-year-old has revealed how the demands of the Premier League can force a player to constantly step their game up.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Ozil said: “I think it’s really important [to keep working]. If you want to develop as a footballer, you have to work on your weaknesses every day.
“You have to have talent but of course nobody is perfect, and you have to work hard to minimise those weaknesses as well as you can. I’m working hard on that – for example, I’m not ambidextrous, so I’m working on my right foot too.
“Especially if you play in the Premier League, you have to look after your body because the matches are very demanding and you have plenty of matches. That’s why you have to work hard, to make sure you stay fit.”
